About us

Creating inviting spaces full of meaning, calm and joy through art and creative workshops.

Our Story

KK Surrey Creative was born from a passion for creating art that resonates with the spaces we inhabit. Based in the heart of Surrey, we believe that art should be more than decoration — it should evoke memory, experience, and emotion.

Our work is reminiscent of the moments that matter most: the quiet morning light through a window, the warmth of a cherished room, the calm of a familiar landscape. These are the feelings we aim to capture and share.

Our Philosophy

We have interiors in mind — the artwork is reminiscent of memory and experience and therefore helps to create inviting spaces full of meaning, calm and joy in the home.

Each piece is created with intention, designed not just to be seen but to be felt. We believe that living with art changes how we experience our daily lives, bringing moments of pause, reflection, and beauty.

Workshops

Beyond creating art, we love sharing the creative process through workshops held across Surrey. These sessions offer a chance to slow down, explore your own creativity, and connect with others in a relaxed, inspiring environment.

Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to develop existing skills, our workshops are designed to be accessible and enjoyable for all.

Meet the Artists

Katherine is artist, art historian and art teacher. Her practice is shaped by both creative and academic study. After specialising in Fine Art at Wimbledon Art College, Katherine studied Art History at the University of Warwick, including a residency in Venice. Subsequently teaching across a range of secondary school settings, these combined experiences have shaped a conceptual practice grounded in historical awareness, material exploration and critical reflection. Katherine's work is informed by an ongoing dialogue between contemporary artistic practice and historical reference. Drawing on a wide range of artists and movements, she explores painting through both an insider’s understanding of process and a viewer’s perceptual experience. More simply put, Katherine creates abstract art that is designed to create an emotional landscape within the home.

Kate trained in Art and Design at college before specialising in Graphic Design at university, which led to a twelve-year career as a graphic designer and Creative Manager at Mott MacDonald. During this time, Kate developed a strong visual language rooted in composition, colour, and visual storytelling. Alongside a professional design career, Kate remained deeply engaged with making art in all its forms—painting, taking on occasional commissions such as brochures and bespoke artworks, and creating pieces for friends, family, and her own home. Kate's creativity extends beyond the canvas; she has always loved working with her hands and can often be found restoring old furniture, giving overlooked objects a new lease of life. Art has never felt like a separate pursuit, but a constant thread running through everything Kate does. Over time, word-of-mouth commissions grew naturally, allowing her to build a substantial body of work and transition into selling art. Today, Kate's focus is on creating original artwork for the home -pieces designed to be lived with and emotionally connected to. My background in graphic design, combined with a lifelong passion for art, interiors, and making, continues to shape and inspire her work.
